MUDEO is a multidisciplinary design operative based around Boston specializing in graphic design, brand identity, and architecture. The studio is a moniker for the work of Kenny Isidoro, a designer and creative thinker. Whether designing a building, book, or brand, I approach the design solution through a process that is more problem-based than aesthetically driven, and intrinsically links the concept to the content.
Before earning my Master of Architecture degree in 2008, I graduated with degrees in both architecture and graphic design from Northeastern University. My thesis was based on the theoretical idea of developing unused air rights to create cultural and commercial buildings within the three-dimensional puzzle of existing urban fabric, eliminating waste and displacement, and creating a denser city.
I've worked as a designer for Ann Beha Architects and Elkus Manfredi Architects in Boston, focusing on mixed-use, housing, and cultural projects. As current marketing director and graphic designer for LLB Architects in Providence, I've assisted the firm in winning multiple commissions for large-scale projects in New England, and have produced environmental graphics for many of the firm's architectural projects.
Outside of my day-to-day profession, I'm passionate about the world of marching percussion and I've recently been able to merge my passion for the activity with my love for design. After marching with The Cadets drum corps from 2001-2003 and serving as technician in 2007, I produced the corps' new logo and brand identity. Currently, I'm the program coordinator and visual designer for the world-champion King Philip Indoor Percussion Ensemble, a percussive arts group made up of high school and middle school students that competes on a national level. I'm responsible for conceptual design, set design, costume design, and visual effect for the group.
