About

Moving to New York City in November 2012 for personal reasons and therefore looking for employment as an architect from that time.

To date my experience as a self-employed chartered architect has involved mostly working on domestic projects, conversions and alterations to existing properties, extensions and new build, working closely with clients have taken projects from initial design stages through obtaining statutory consents and tender procedures, to final completion. Projects currently on site range from alterations to flats, to private house extensions both in Edinburgh and as far a field as London and the Isle of Barra.

Recently completed works include a Steading conversion and holiday house in Perthshire, a copper clad extension to an A listed Edinburgh tenement and a sensitive loft conversion to an A listed St Andrews villa on the Scores.
Worked closely with a property developer from 2002-2006, on conversions of Edinburgh New Town Georgian tenements into high-end apartments, from design inception to completion of projects on site.
I am interested in finding creative and sensitive solutions to client’s needs, and to the demands and constraints put on the design process by historical and geographical context, climate and budget.
