Since the fall of 2000 I have been living and working in Stockholm, Sweden. Recently my family and I moved back to the USA to help with care-giving to my elderly parents.
I am looking for work opportunities with a creative design firm, whose projects vary in scope, size and demand a high level of design and project management capabilities.
I have several years’ experience in the working world of architecture, a license from the state of New York, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in architecture from Virginia Tech and have had many different responsibilities in architectural firms. I pride myself on my honesty, quality and dedication to my work, design skills and I have a wide range of experience, from luxury homes to extensive office suites and large facilities, as well as advanced state of the art spas, multi-family housing projects and surgical instrument sterilizing/packaging facilities. I possess many capabilities and qualities that will be a great asset to your firm.
At work in Stockholm, I was the number one man next to the owner Per Öberg for the last 11 years while the firm grew from three to as many as ten employees. I was personally in charge of several clients, while being involved in almost every project the office produced, I was responsible for several at a time. This included budget calculation, design development, zoning documents, construction documents, construction administration, coordination of all other professional services (MEP+S) involved, and in some cases interior design and installation of such. I was also an integral part of all design presentations and competition entries. Since I was the offices most senior employee, I was in charge of recruitment and oversight of all employees. Finally, I was the CAD/network manager responsible for all computer related decisions, design, purchases and administration.
Since I have been living out of the country for several years I am presently working on re-registering my NY license and gaining registration in MA through NCARB. Presently I have 36 credit hours to complete and will be starting as soon as possible.
Lately during my job search I have been learning DataCAD and will be starting Revit in the near future, to facilitate my transition into any firm. I am somewhat of an AutoCAD/Auto Architecture "expert" because of the fact that I have been using this program since version 8 in 1990. I also have used Cad-Cam, Microstation and ArchiCAD in the past. I have been the CAD/Network manager in the last three offices I worked in so I believe learning any new program such as Revit will come relatively easily and in a short amount of time.
