I’m a 28 year old PhD researcher at the University of Sheffield School of Architecture, interested in redefining everyday living, from changing the way we live and interact with the world to the future of the economy. My PhD research, Adaptive Design Capacity, is focused on developing a Strategic-Design based methodology rooted in a comprehensive understanding of behavioural and complexity sciences, before applying them to complex entities such as cities.

RESEARCH TOPIC: ADAPTIVE DESIGN CAPACITY
The climate of design and its rapid evolution to meet the challenges of the 21st century has generated considerable interest from the academic, business and governmental communities, resulting in a marked increase in the number of Higher Education Institutions offering courses in design on an international level. Within this climate lies a nascent opportunity for current architectural education in the United Kingdom to critically re-examine its function in increasingly volatile times, and conscientiously prepare its graduates to exploit their naturally comprehensive educational training into not just harnessing opportunities, but actually creating them through rigorous, critical experimentation and evaluation.
