About 

My name is Melanie Ohar and I am currently a Project Manager for a sector of the Department of Defense in the Washington DC Metro area. Over the years I have worked on a diverse group of projects, confronting my awareness of what it means to be a designer. Through my research and work experiences, I have found a new motivation to make a career move towards a creative opportunity combining my passion for architecture and interior design.

 

My current position involves the management of designated LEED projects, revealing an in depth understanding of the foundations of building constructions from start to finish. Combined with my technical knowledge, I have previously worked as project manager and designer for the International Design Clinic, developing creative concept solutions in public spaces throughout Philadelphia, Bolivia, and Vietnam. My current goals are to tap into the cross-disciplinary practice between architecture, interior design, urban planning, and public art to reinterpret the perception of specific spaces and how the surrounding environment is affected by them. 

 As you can see from my resume I have extended commercial and residential experience including corporate offices, international projects, and design build projects including advanced computer knowledge of Revit, AutoCad, 3D Studio Max, Sketch-up, and Adobe Creative Suite.
