About

I began my architectural career with some of the most noted designers and craftsman in the northeast, and includes 10 years in the construction trades.  Time spent in this profession taught me superior building skills while forging my strong work ethic.

My education credentials include a B.S. in Facility Management, and a Master of Architecture through a 3-1/2 year program.  My thesis, The Crafting of Architecture, focused on a design-build approach to architecture, culminating in the re-design and construction of an art gallery in Buffalo, NY, and garnered the judges’ choice award at the AIAS Design Competition in 2003 (open to all architectural students worldwide).

Following my Master’s degree, I worked for 2Morrow Studio (principal, John Connell, is the founder of the Yestermorrow School of Design-Build, and was engaged in the Winvian Farm resort project In Connecticut, and included the design and construction of a 2-story treehouse built on three trees.  As the most experienced builder, I helped translate a unique and challenging abstract design into a buildable structure.

After my work with the treehouse, I continued at Winvian working with Design Giants (headquartered in Vermont) on “The Woodland Cottage” which is truly one of the best-detailed buildings I have ever had the pleasure of making.  My responsibilities included management of the project and field office, lead builder, design documents, and design collaboration.

Upon relocating to the New York City area, I worked with a local architecture firm where I became acquainted with the required codes and procedures of New York City.  Since then I have continually taken on various contracted positions including designing and building furniture, plan review and job estimation for contractors, creating residential designs, and managing construction projects.
