Occasionally I would work in the shop fabricating or running the Thermwood CNC machines. I have Managed and completed over 100 Projects during my time at this firm.

I worked during school managing the Pratt Laser Shop, Metal Shop and Wood Shop. I would watch over the shop and assist students in using the machinery. I learned how to conduct myself with all of the machines in the shop, welding, laser cutting & fabricating.

This started as a full-time internship and gradually shifted to freelance when I went back to school for the fall semester. The firm was 80% government work with very strict codes and regulations. I have worked on Veterans hospitals, Air Force Base office buildings & Fire Stations. Most of the work was Design Build and Design Bid Build. I was the lead designer on 2 projects at this firm, a hemo-dialysis unit in a veterans hospital and a 10,000 SF office facility and Hanscom Air Force Base, both projects have completed construction in 2010.

Most of the work at this firm was interior renovations. I would work on interior remodeling, drafting ceiling plans and electrical plans & construction documents. I would help the interior design section of the firm with creating digital and physical presentations for clients.

I worked half the summer in the field helping with construction, and the other half in the office assisting with drawings and presentations. When in the field I helped fabricate and weld Steel framework, hang drywall, frame walls and ceilings, install flooring & Demolition for new projects. When working in the office I assisted in Construction Documents for interior renovations and small office buildings.

Cash Prize & Featured in a Magazine, 3rd Place

My partner and I received Honorable Mention with a cash prize for a Sky-lighting competition studio sponsored by Velux. We then had a 3 page spread in the magazine and had professional photographer Mark Mahney photograph our work.
