I have a passion to produce good design regardless of scale, discipline, or constraint. My interest began with architecture but has evolved with my understanding of design. I believe that design knowledge can translate across all fields, but it takes openmindedness and diligence to try new things.
I am a sixth year Masters of Architecture student at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Outside of school, I have worked at multiple internships, been in leadership positions of both professional and academic organizations and various other leadership positions.
My internships have ranged from both small (Randy Brown Architects) to large firms (HDR) and tasks involved a full spectrum of design.
Since March 2011, my partner, Nicholas Pajerski and I founded a design and consultation group (MAKE Collaboration). Our invention, the Prop laptop stand, is just about to go to market after a successful Kickstarter funding. Our other projects have included winning a design award (the Prop), three competitions and developing branding for multiple organizations. Ultimately, MAKE is a sidecar to a larger goal of becoming a licensed architect.

HDR, Omaha, NE, Architectural Intern
As an architectural intern in a large firm, I was given tasks ranging from design of an urban park to modeling as-built, & construction documents. The highlight of the summer was engaging in a charrette in Chicago for an avant rehabilitation project.
Renewable Energy Infrastructures - UNL, Lincoln, NE, Research Assistant
Working with Professor Chris Ford of UNL-Arch and two graduate students to research the possibilities of renewable energies in urban sites. Design, existing site modeling, and research of products were involved in this project.

A summer internship working on awards submissions, residential interior design, office space redesign along with construction documents and on site construction.
Emerging Terrain Stored Potential 2 [MAKE], Award
Stored Potential is a large-scale installation covering the silos of a vacant grain elevator near downtown Omaha, Nebraska in order to reposition the structure in the landscape.
Stored Potential: Land Use, Agriculture, and Food was conducted in 2010 through an open call for submissions, and now Stored Potential: Transport(ation) is currently seeking submissions and will be installed Summer 2012.
SiteScapes Design Competition, 1st Place
SiteScapes (a site furnishings company) sponsored a competition in 2011 for the American Institute of Architecture Students product design competition at the University of Nebraska.
Apartment Therapy Design Competition Winner - the Prop [MAKE], Award
This month we're putting out the call for great, new designs by independent and student designers that promise to make our homes more beautiful and inspiring places to live.
We'll post the best submissions, allow the readers to vote and then give six finalists an unprecedented chance to feature their design and themselves by building their own original post on our site during prime time at the end of September.
Two winners will then be chosen (1 judge favorite and 1 crowd favorite) and each given $10k in advertising on our network and daily emails (if the same design is chosen by both sides, that person will win $20k). This is a golden opportunity to craft an even more personal message and get it in front of our audience of over 7 million monthly readers.
