About

As a Junior Designer I bring a collaborative spirit and passion to my work, as well as an ability to balance design with operational needs and budget objectives; resulting in exceptional environments. Produce construction documents including architectural details, plans, and elevations.  Design material and mood boards, assemble presentations and brochures, and create and maintain project binders and documents.

Since graduating from Fashion Institute of Technology in 2011, I have been actively engaged in Freelance work and volunteer opportunities that have allowed me to further develop my design skills. As a project coordinator for Architecture for Humanity, I partnered with Akasha, another non-profit organization that teaches yoga to impoverished people in New York City, to design their mobile yoga studios. I led a team of volunteers from various professional and cultural backgrounds; providing clear, effective, and timely communication of design direction. I identified challenges and areas of opportunities while aiming to achieve the best design solution possible. Interviewed yoga practitioners and researched yoga philosophy in order maximize the experience of Yogis in the studios. The solution was what we called the acceptable yoga space. A structural component that utilizes fabric, that provides lighting and can be quickly installed. We were able to stay within budget and within time frame, and have successfully met Akasha’s requirements and standards. Currently, I participate on another project to design the interior of Sustainable South Bronx headquarters, an organization that addresses economic and environmental issues in the South Bronx.

Moreover, as Freelance designer, I have taken upon residential design. Most recent is a renovation project of a 2-stories home that has been affected by Storm Sandy. I have partnered with Ivory Architecture, assisting in effectively documenting the damages and areas to be renovated, and producing and organizing construction documents. My work with the company requires attention to detail as I accurately take measurements and document building conditions to better assist the architect in the overall design.
