Eden Environments received a Green Industry Innovator Awards from Corp Magazine. Green Industry Innovators included a bus tour company, chemical suppliers, and retail and gift card firms. Eden Environments in Grand Rapids has made itself a green resource to West Michigan since the design center opened in September 2008.
Denise Hopkins opened the business, which offers sustainable architectural, interior and landscape design services, plus green furnishings and accessories, in a renovated space. She donated all the contents removed during renovation to Habitat for Humanity.
Eden provides green education to the community and offers support to organizations such as the West Michigan Environmental Action Council.
A LEED-certified professional, Hopkins proves to clientele it is not always more costly to go green "and there is much higher inherent value in sustainable products."

These companies were chosen not only upon the basis of their success in terms of sales, employment and business strategy, but also on the company’s economic impact, and of course, the involvement of the MI-SBTDC in providing assistance to reach their goals.
