I am recently graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters of Architecture, completing my 5 years by participating in Studio 804's design build experience. I am a Chicago-suburb native but am interested in traveling the world, wherever work takes me.
Studio 804, Inc, Designer/Builder

Studio 804, Inc. is a not-for-profit, design-build studio at the University of Kansas. In the fall semester, students design a building and research the various aspects, meeting 3 days a week. In the spring semester, they court donors, write construction documents, and construct the building themselves, meeting 6 days a week.
-Become knowledgeable in the areas of ADA requirements and codes --local and international
-Research concrete capabilities, design an access ramp based on this material choice, and calculate its structural capacities
-Write press-releases for milestone events
-Created a filing system to organize the students' server and hard drives
-Correspond with product and material companies for purchases and donations
-Create construction documents and detailing for concrete access ramp and railing system
-Participate in construction process of Center for Design Research
Army Corps of Engineers, Student CADD Tech
40 hours per week
-Learned Bentley Microstation software for 3-D modeling of architectural components of the company's projects
-Created and layed out sheets for construction document sets
-Red-lined construction documents and assisted in making the necessary changes
-Verified ADA accessibility for restrooms and other portions of the projects, adjusting the 3-D models to reflect these requirements; researched products that meet ADA requirements
-Coordinated with the mechanical engineers to verify placement of and to model exhaust and stacked ventilation
-Researched energy modeling software and photovoltaic panels to coordinate with the department's LEED architect
-Coordinated with interior design department to assess and layout material selections
