With nearly twenty years in architecture, Kathy brings a depth of experience and knowledge to her projects. She has adapted and grown with the many changes in the building industry, while maintaining her passion for mentoring younger architects and staff.
Kathy's past project experiences include education, recreation, commercial, high end residential, multi-family residential, ranch-resort, tenant improvements and remodels.
Having gone through a couple of recessions already, Kathy sees this current recession as a time for the architecture industry to grow and adapt for a better model than in past recent decades. Freelancing and consulting are a great way for today's architects to achieve more flexibility in their lives and offer firms the staffing flexibility they need to stay competitive, while getting through the lean times. Sustainability and green buildings are also rising as a means for architects to plan for better communities.
Kathy is NCARB certified and licensed in Washington and Montana.

Project architect on projects including airport work, college projects and housing.
NAC|Architecture, Spokane, WA, US, Project Architect
Kathy worked as a team member on several large projects while at NAC Architecture, including Deer Park High School, Ferris High School, Lynnwood Pool and Recreation Center, and Rockwood Towers Assisted Living Centers. Her construction expertise was utilized to detail exterior building shells and interiors.
Kathy also served as project manager for smaller projects that included the City of Spokane Upriver Facility Remodel and Renovation, Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture Bookstore Remodel and the Inland Northwest Blood Center tenant improvement.
JLF & Associates, Project Manager
As a project manager at JLF & Associates, Kathy would manage high end residential projects from schematic design through construction administration. Many time the houses included out-buildings such as caretaker residences, barns, and gatehouses. Reclaimed timbers and stone were the predominant materials often with steel framed substructures.
Washington State University, BArch, Architecture
While attending Washington State, Kathy studied abroad on the WSU London Program. They spent three months in London, studying in space at the Architectural Association, and touring England. Following the program, Kathy spent six weeks traveling throughout Europe.
Montana Business and Professional Women Young Careerist, Award
As the Montana BPW Young Careerist, Kathy traveled to the National BPW Convention in Fort Lauderdale, FL to compete in the national Young Careerist competition. The competition consisted of a speech and interview.
