COMPETITION CHALLENGE
Design a Sustainable Learning Center for Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minnesota implementing an energy efficient design achieving USGBC’s LEED Platinum level. This multifunctional building will accommodate college classes, visiting school groups, public forums and workshops. These gatherings consist of lectures and discussions along with hands on activities. The building must meet ADA requirements and provide as much flexibility as possible. The design may be one or two stories but must stay within a 3,000 sq/ft footprint with a total finished sq/ft not to exceed 4,500. The site does allow for a one story building with a walk-out basement.
