TERMINAL 1 - TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The Architects for the new terminal were Airport Architects Canada - a joint venture between Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP (New York Office), Adamson Associates (Mississauga, ON) & Moshe Safdie & Associates (Somerville, MA).

 

The New Terminal, the centerpiece of an overall development by The Greater Toronto Airport Authority, will accommodate approximately 29 million passengers annually by 2015. Together with the four pier buildings that radiate into the airfield, the curved Terminal will have a floor area of four million Sq. Ft. and provide a total of 77 Boarding Gates.

 

Built in there phases, the New Terminal includes the Central Processor - containing Arrivals and Departures, The Liner - a secure area for passengers with boarding passes and Piers D E & F where the boarding gates are located. Pier G will will built in the future.
