Foster + Partners to design 58-story office tower in Hudson Yards
Construction on the Hudson Yards supertall set to replace the McDonalds at the corner of 34th Street and Tenth Avenue will begin sometime next year...Standing 985-feet tall, the building will divided into three distinct sections stacked one atop the other...The design team has also planned what it’s calling a “halo” to be located atop the building...The interiors are comprised of column-free floors that span at least 50,000 square-feet, and each floor can accommodate at least 500 people.

Renzo Piano will design the new Kum & Go corporate HQ in Iowa
Renzo Piano Building Workshop will be the design architect for the new corporate headquarters of Midwest convenience retailer chain Kum & Go. The 120,000 sq.foot building will be located at the Pappajohn Sculpture Park in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.
After competing teams submitted written proposals, six finalists were interviewed last month before RPBW won the project. In the next few months, a local architect and general contractor will be chosen as the design process begins.
HENN to Design Glazed Software Factory in Karlsruhe, Germany
"Glazed Software Factory" is the title of the winning competition entry for the new premises of a software company in the southern Germany city of Karlsruhe. The proposal was designed by German firm HENN (formerly known as Henn Architekten), who many of you may still vividly remember for their stunning Porsche Pavilion at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg.

Seattle’s Super-Green Bullitt Center Opened on Earth Day
Yesterday, on Earth Day, Seattle's latest green building celebrated its grand opening: The Bullitt Center, a super-efficient office space at 1501 East Madison Street, was designed to become the world’s largest functioning, commercial Living Building, using an estimated 83 percent less energy than a typical Seattle office building and achieving Net Zero Energy and Net Zero Water.
