Grimshaw Architects has revealed designs for two Manhattan city “superblocks” as part of New York University’s city-wide development programme.
While I appreciate that Grimshaw at least opened up axes along the former right-of-ways, I wish he would have gone further to propose restoring the street grid. Anything short of a public right-of-way is still private space.
