Participatory build projects and natural architecture ...
Some wonderful seating elements constructed from simple wood slats dot the Giardini, reminiscent of Enzo Mari's “autoprogettazione.” The chairs have been made by Raumlaborberlin, who have enabled public participation by laying out the "hardware" (a workstation filled with materials and tools), and the "software" (instructions for modules that can be easily assembled into chairs, tables and shelves).

The Czech and Slovak pavilion had another set of beautiful live constructions by the architect Martin Rajnis in what he terms "Natural Architecture." I love seeing planks of wood, materials, a sense of things being unfinished ... it allows you to imagine the potential, while drawing you to look closer to the process and construction techniques.
