picked up an Oscar for best documentary. Congratulations to first time filmmakers Ross Kauffman and Zana Briski who operate a non-prof in Calcutta ‘Kids With Cameras,' dedicated to empowering youth in poverty through art. Now they're headed back to Calcutta to build a school for their program, and taking their architect (AFH) with them. Read | previously”¦

cool, good for them!
i saw their mini press conference on www.oscar.com, she has a very real sense of pride in her voice when she says "our architect." go cameron!
"Briski plans a return trip to Calcutta next month, with an architect in tow, to look for land to build a leadership and arts school for the children of Calcutta's prostitutes. Eventually, they hope to have 100 students enrolled. Kochi, the bright-eyed 10-year-old in the film, has informed Briski that she intends to run the school when she grows up."
""I'm going to be very involved in the building, the construction, the vision and the ethics of the school," reports Briski, who earned a master's degree in theology and religious studies at Cambridge University. "I can imagine teaching every now and again, but I'm not going to live in Calcutta and teach full time.""
