Miami Art Museum Director Terence Riley resigned Monday after nearly four years on the job, but he will remain affiliated with the museum through June 30, as a consultant, focused exclusively on MAM's new, $220 million home planned for Bicentennial Park. In leading the new museum project, Riley helped commission the Pritzker Prize winning architectural firm of Herzog & de Meuron to design the new MAM, negotiated with city and county officials for funding and raised money from private donors.
But he also butted heads with critics of public funding for the museum, such as Miami art collector Martin Z. Margulies. Miami Herald | previous
