This week Archinect celebrates the Festival of Lights with a gift for each of the 8 days.
Day One....
What a brilliant way to kick off a holiday season.....launched in the features this week, The Pink Project gives us the opportunity to talk about architecture and help people in New Orleans rebuild their lives. Many Archinecteurs would agree that the picture of Brad Pitt on the home page is an added bonus.
Day Two....
In the school blogs this week, we saw technology in action. Quilian kept us glued to our seats for the Eisenman Herzog conversation with live blogging from the scene at the GSD, while Mark took your advice and created a truly remarkable animation.
Day Three....
As we all know, it takes a long time to establish yourself as an architect, which is why we're doubly insulted when we hear about someone not only practicing without a license, but without a degree as well. We got good news this week when we heard that John Sinrud of Montana got a cease and desist order, but are there more out there like him? Also in the forums ....
Day Four....
Rent may be expensive here in Los Angeles, but as Orhan pointed out, at least most of us don't live in St. Petersburg. Any guesses as to how much the "affordable housing units" in the Grand Avenue Project will cost?
Day Five....
Another indispensable "central" thread has shown up in the discussions......this one is about Project Management. Visit here for all of your PM questions!
Day Six....
Newbie arch6 reminds us just how hard it is being new in the architectural workplace even when we have the best of intentions. farwest reminds us that even when we have lots of experience, we still may find it difficult to get our way with our own design.
Day Seven....
If you have time to waste (a gift I'm sure most of us could use), you could figure out which presidential candidate you should vote for, have a look at who's giving money to the candidates, or brush up on your architectural history with this impromptu list of books. And speaking of history....well, you know the song.
Day Eight....
When all else fails and you think you've seen all that Archinect has to offer, don't forget the three subjects that never go away; grad school, alcohol, and Thread Central, which is poised to pass 100,000 views any day now. Who knew that talking about nothing could be so interesting?!?
Happy Holidays!

Excellent job, EmilyK!! I really enjoyed it, and realized I missed quite a bit last week while I was letting Steven surpass me in comment quantity (though he's always had higher quality than me).
dub K does a double! Great job!
Thanks gang. I do what I can :-D
Jerry Seinfeld also understood the power of nothing.
