The Robert H. Timme Architectural Research Center (aka the third floor of Watt Hall) will open to students this fall and provides expanded space for graduate programs in architecture, landscape, building science, and historic preservation. Link
Also, Associate Dean Charles LaGreco mentioned at the ceremony that the selection committee had narrowed the field to 4 candidates to replace Dean Timme, and was in the process of scheduling interviews.

The final 4 candidates are:
Margaret Crawford
Dana Cuff
Quigyun Ma
Peter Pran
Their CVs are posted at: http://www.usc.edu/admin/provost/searches.html
Quigyun Ma!?!?! that would be cool.
They're all great candidates...Ma stands out because of his (seeming) lack of experience in higher education (relative to the other candidates). Good for USC.
Thanks Alan! They seemed so hush-hush about it that it didn't even occur to me that the University might publish it like that.
I really see an Los Angeles vs. International vibe being set up by this - Crawford and Cuff both seem very in touch with LA and the art and architecture scene there, whereas Ma and Pran both have a broader focus. I'm completely befuddled as to which approach would be better for the school, but I'm glad USC has options like this.
AP- the thing that interested me about Ma was that his CV specified that he had experience in *graduate* education. USC's at a point where they're really trying to develop and promote their graduate programs, and I think someone w/ that experience could really jumpstart that effort. Not saying the other candidates might not have the same tools, it just jumped out to me from Ma's CV.
