Course Work of Note
Architectural Design Studio 2- Spring 2010 (portfolio page 12-17)
The Living Wall was a full scale design-build project which was installed by the freshman class at Griffith’s Sculpture Park. The exercise was devoted to the production of construction drawing sets, and the modularization a project and its assembly.
Structures 1 + Structures 2- Spring/Fall 2011
Basic structural load analysis and physics used in the testing of different truss systems and support strategies.
Environmental Controls 1- Spring 2012
The course placed emphasis on passive design and solar heating while taking a in-depth look at building systems. Major skills developed were in eco-tech and radiance solar analysis. Later designed and fabricated small scale sunscreen systems, after digital testing of performance.
Construction Technology- Spring 2012 (portfolio page 62-63)
Construction documents were used to create accurate and detailed building section axonometrics with peel-backs. These drawings encompassed all material and system aspects, and were used as keys for assembly outlines.
Architecture Studio Abroad- Summer 2012 (portfolio page 56-61)
The course work took place primarily in Tokyo and had an investigative nature that ranged from cataloging urban phenomena to the study of Metabolist architecture. The overarching goals were to find what was unique to the city, and use it to inspire us and catalog/interpret it.
Book Making- Fall 2012
The course sought to take all academic work and communicate it through one graphic style. The course was a series of portfolio iterations which were analyzed in terms of formatting, layout and graphic design on a weekly basis.
Architectural Design Studio 7- Fall 2012 (portfolio page 56-61)
Comprehensive Design studio became a project inspired by the acoustic geometries and assemblies required for a high density of sound being contained and compartmentalized within one multi-use building. It resolved structural, mechanical, passive and programmatic issues into one cohesive project.
