My name is Mustafa Kustur. I hold a Bachelor of Architectural Science from the
Istanbul Technical University in my home country of Turkey and a Master of Architecture from the
Southern California Institute of Architecture (SciArc). I am the recipient of the Best Thesis Award as well as Distinction from Istabul Technical University and the
Sci-Arc’s prestigious 2014 Gehry Prize. Beyond my academic accomplishments, I have
over two years of work experience both here in Los Angeles and the artistic and creative city of Istanbul. My responsibilities in my past work experiences range from conceptual design to construction documents as well as packages, visualizations, animations and heavy
duty model making.

I have desired to work in architecture since a young age. Through my education, I have had
the opportunity to explore different manners of architectural representation and form. As you can
see in my portfolio, I am particularly interested in choosing different artistic methods and ideas such
as optical-illusion, shadow-play and color to achieve representational drawings.
Following such an art-based education at SCI-Arc, I hope to now to build upon my past experiences with the more practical and developmental side of the architecture profession. I am hard working and eager to learn by doing, and develop strong knowledge and skills in building and construction.
