Bogota Master Planning

Archi-Tectonics, as the lead designer, was invited to form the design and PR team for “My Ideal City”.
We started the design process by asking ourselves: What is a downtown?
The general characteristics of a downtown include:
Public Facilities- [a City Center-, Transport Center-, Commercial Center]
Demographics- [A high density of population]
Institutions- [Hospitals and Amenities, Universities]
Neighborhoods- [Minimal residential, Possibility of growth of slums]
Traffic- [incl Traffic problems and Pollution]
Our conclusion was that two important groups are missing, the demographics [people] and the Public facilities [what people need]
Knowing that the above fact, we focused on five major regions and developed five scenario’s for the future development of Bogota.  These areas fall within the localities of Martires, Santa Fe, Antonio Narino, Candelaria and San Cristobal.  By improving these regions, some of which are on the extremities of our site, intermediate neighborhoods will see a positive impact.  Also, by strengthening the connections between these areas, vehicular problems will be addressed and improved.
