Vatnsmyri Master Planning Competition
Designed for an ideas competition, the widely publicized entry explores possibilities of a 150-hectare on-site production, harvesting and distribution of biologically produced hydrogen fuel for vehicles and homes. The scheme employs a 10-meter diameter algae pond that could produce and store hydrogen for up to twelve homes weekly furthering the country’s commitment to renewable energy. The ponds and balloons remain visible in the local landscape in effort to further public awareness of their energy consumption.
