Do you know the difference between a niche (nitch) and a niche (neesh)?
A niche is on a contract job, a niche is always T&M.

Buildable details and computer modeling and realistic renderings.....I ramble a lot, but would not say its a specialty or even suggest I am good at it.

A niche is important to practice, without you’re lost – it can be a building type or better yet an allied service that no else offers. I’ve talked about mine elsewhere and won’t repeat but mine were services not building types to start. I’m Midwest and it was impossible to go building type because you would do one or two then it was all over without repeats for years.

I've always wondered why Mike Rowe never has any architects on hi show. We get some really shitty jobs ...

Miles the quality Crank....ok olaf is a specialist at rambling rumbling ramble rabble rubble....
Speaking of dirty jobs in architecture, there was a great thread on here years back about the occasional horrors of on-site measuring and documentation for producing as-builts. Pitch-black basements, animal carcasses, floors ankle-deep in sludge, hostile occupants... it made for hilarious reading.
(I did a quick search but didn't find it....)

I am still young enough that it could ultimately go in several directions.... but mostly providing exceptional dexterity with software and computational solutions while always keeping in mind fabrication and construction constraints.
--------------------------------------
Also, being able to talk the talk and walk the walk with contractors and tradesmen.
Well what is it!
