In 2012, Marmon Mok and Populous were engaged to perform a facility assessment study on the Alamodome.  The intent of this study was to assess the ability of the Alamodome to attract and host the NCAA Final Four and College Football National Championship. Detailed event site plans were developed using NCAA programmatic requirements to show how the building could be used for the event as well as recommended improvements. Additionally, an architectural facility comparison and condition assessment was developed to compare the Alamodome to eight other competing facilities, identifying the greatest areas in need of improvement. Following this report, Marmon Mok and Populous assisted the City and San Antonio Local Organizing Committee with specific proposals for the Final Four and College Football Championship.  A similar analysis of the Alamodome was also developed relative to National Football League team facilities.
