The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) desires to explore the development potential of new office, commercial and residential construction in the air rights over major rural and suburban routes adjacent to and in Chicago. The IDOT interest focuses on the design feasibility of “prototype” demonstration projects incorporating contemporary structural, environmental, constructional and sustainable technologies that could be used in other Illinois cities and municipalities. The projects target typical six-lane roadway configurations adjacent to on/off ramps and  growing communities thereby creating new employment opportunities and related economic benefits.

General Requirements:
• Multi-story building with no basement (air rights over IDOT expressway)
• Total of 100,000 gross sf (Expandable to 150,000 gross sf)
