My name is Lourenço Andrade. I have been practising architecture since 2005, the year when I
started a professional journey that has taken me from Lisbon to Coimbra, London, Sao Paulo and
more recently, to New York. Post-masters degree (graduating in 2007) from Autónoma Univeristy
of Lisbon, I had the opportunity to apply a variety of different techniques and concepts in various
projects scales and phases.
From my work I would highlight two hospitals, one in Barcelos and the other one in Tripoli (Libya)
through Moerschel Architects. A pub conversion in Kensington with Parritt Leng Architects. An urban
restructure of a Favela in Morumbi (Brazil) under the supervision of the awarded brazilian Architect
Eduardo Colonelli. A scenography in a historical Lisbon theater and an extension and renovation of a family house in the country side of Portugal, both with my mentor and awarded portuguese Architect João Mendes Ribeiro. My professional experience made me a versatile architect
going through several ways of working and several ways of using our tools.
Moving to New York has provided me with the chance to find a new challenge in one of the most
exciting and competitive markets in the world when it comes to architectural innovation.
I am resilient, hard working and an enthusiastic architect with a superior technical and cultural knowledge, so I feel confident that I can easily fit in any team and do any task I am proposed to.
My favourite tools to work are definitely autocad and hand drawing, I am an expert in 2D design
and I have some basic knowledge in 3D, though for 3D presentations I prefer to use cinema 4D,
Sketchup, or Rhino. InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite or Pages from MOS
are essential tools for me. I also worked with ArchiCad and Microstation, both in 2D and 3D. I can
easily use Windows or MOS interfaces.
