About

Name's Johnny Lemoine and I'm a designer born around Boston. I have a serious fanaticism for craftsmanship within the realm of design and creating. My passions and expertise lie in not only architecture, but furniture, fashion, graphic, web and product design. I am incredibly hands on and I've recently been deeming myself as a 'maker.'

Massachusetts State College Building Authority, Boston, MA, US, Assistant Project Manager + Graphic Designer

Over the past few years I've been working with the MSCBA. Throughout my journey with them, I saw logos that needed change, business cards that were sending the wrong message, and even letterheads that should've been updated years ago. So, after a year of of Project Management and developing lots of necessary professional skills in Architecture, I created my own job as a Graphic Designer. I began rebranding the Authority with a higher standard of design that is nothing short of parallel to the work (and buildings) they produce themselves. I've redesigned the logo, business cards, report summaries, guideline books, envelopes, letterheads, and more importantly, an identity.

My studies have focused on creating highly efficient buildings with fine, beautiful detail and craftsmanship while blending sustainable methods with new technology. My courses ranged from passive heating and cooling based projects to many housing designs. My thesis was a net zero Nordic museum in Seattle, Washington. I also took product design courses and two furniture making classes.

The program was a practical one where I gained lots of knowledge on buildings were actually put together. Aside from taking four structures courses, I learned how to detail an energy efficient envelope and build furniture with my own two hands. The studios ranged from libraries to housing to high schools, and even a real project that I ended up being employed for. My final thesis project was a regenerative affordable housing project in the South End in Boston, Massachusetts.
