Fish Market

Rescue the small scale fishing economy that is one of the main production resources for Puerto
Natales and its people.
The original fishing port has been under use for the past 55 years, so the project’s aim is to increase
its productivity by generating a master plan that brings both the touristic attractions to this area and
the local people, to meet in one inclusive urban renewal.
A fish market right next to the old fish port is the starting point followed by a combination of landscape
design and indoor/outdoor activities that will enhance the area’s outstanding surroundings.
The radical weather (extreme south, extreme cold, fast wind, unpredictable weather changes) is
combined with radical interventions that intend to intensify the weather experience with the inclusion
of viewpoint platforms and outdoor hot pools, that stand on the shore looking towards Los Andes Sky
mountain.
Local activities, beautiful surroundings and outdoor activities bring the people to the shore to enjoy
both an urban and landscape experience at the same time.
