About

I am a recent interior design graduate of Florence Institute of Design International, from Singapore, and am looking for a position as junior designer or design intern. My bachelors degree is accredited by the University of Chester in the UK.

Generally, I gravitate towards companies that explores anti-disciplinary and concept design as in my three years of undergraduate studies, my education was focused on the latter. This is explicit in the interior and product designs I have completed and shown in my portfolio. Some of these were prototyped, and hence I have had experience with the production phase.

I have had two internships in the past, interior design department of Ong & Ong Ptd Ltd in Singapore, and Studio Tricot Archittetura & Design in Florence, Italy. I would like to work abroad in order to broaden my perspective, which I believe will aid in my design as well.

FIDI's interior design courses focus on the techniques and the design process used by Italy's Interior Design profession. They give the students a foundation of knowledge and skills in all the areas of Furniture Design, Interior Decoration and Interior Design of Italy.

The courses have been integrated to allow thorough exploration of each design concept. Form and functionality aspects are studied in the Studio Design Courses. Simultaneously, virtual 3D models of interiors and furniture are created in the computer classes to further examine the visual aspects and presentation qualities of the scheme. The Interior Design school courses offer instruction in AutoCAD, 3d Studio Max, SketchUp, and Vray. These software are the most prevalently used programs used in Italy, Europe and throughout the world.

The main focus of the Interior design school's program is the Studio Design Course. Themes of space planning, Furniture Design, Interior Decoration, textures, color schemes and lighting are addressed.Throughout the semester, students are issued design problems, and then asked to develop design solutions over a period of weeks. Development of each project will be closely advised by instructors. At various stages projects will be presented, discussed then graded according to how they solve the design problem.

The teachers come from both Italy and international backgrounds and are all registered architects or PHD level professors.
