As cities continue to grow, open space in urban areas for a variety of users often becomes more limited and neglected. This project focuses on a lower income housing complex that has some existing design elements associated with open space, such as a basketball court and an adjacent, accessible adjacent high school turf field. Beyond these elements, there are very few spaces that are found appealing or comfortable for the residents. The program is relatively simple; provide more parking, better use of outdoor areas, and stormwater control.
