The design and fabrication of a component-based architectural surface, this project draws inspiration from the irregularities of rock surfaces. Components are explored as folded material- first chipboard and later galvanized sheet metal. The folding pattern creates a slotted joint for nesting left-handed and right-handed components. Folding and assembly sequences are specified by a simple set of construction documents, as an introduction to CAD software in my education. The full-scale assembly was folded on a magnabend machine and was self-supporting without bolted connections.
