This project seeks to establish an understanding of the relationship between systems, components, performance, and design. In essence not only achieving a high degree of technical resolution but using the inherent “constraining” properties building as a catalyst for design. The project lies within the realm of housing, however the inter programmatic relationships are fundamental in the way the user experiences the spectrum of urban, park, and housing programs. In designing an environment that facilitates and encourages use of multiple programs as such, programmatic relationships and their shared boundaries become more important than the programs themselves. This notion of how to address and strengthen this conceptual boundary through the understanding of material assembly became a driving force behind the project.
