I am an Architectural Designer (MArch Graduate Dec. 2010) with a strong focus on ecological design principles.

I have worked in the Summerfest Design Department at Milwaukee World Festival Inc. for 2 years. Prior to that I worked for the University Architects and Planning Department at UW-Milwaukee.

My MArch Thesis project was based around a University operated Athletic Park that tied together Milwaukee's neighborhoods and University community around sport and ecological conservation. In Graduate school I was also the Construction Manager for the UWM Solar Decthlon team nicknamed Meltwater.

Education

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI, US, MArch, Architecture - Ecological Concentration

I completed my MArch Degree - Ecological Concentration at SARUP in the Winter of 2010.

MArch Thesis:
My Thesis project titled: Cambridge Gardens: A Recreational and Athletic Park for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, was based around a University operated Athletic Park that tied together Milwaukee's neighborhoods and University community around sport and ecological conservation.

This thesis needed to be more than just a mere sporting arena/park design, as a University, a leadership role would need to be assumed in various social issues, economic, and environmental impacts. These were reflected in my Site Development, physical ties to the community at large, and Building Design

Solar Decathlon:
We strove to take our building entry, "Meltwater," to another level by designing it to carbon neutral standards.

I came into the project in the 3rd semester which encompassed design development and later construction documentation. Myself and two of my colleagues became the lead architecture students for the remainder of the project.

I became the Construction Manager for the competition in the spring of 2009. Besides making construction documents and detailed shop drawings, my specific duties entailed: coordinating a construction zone on campus, arranging transportation and heavy equipment (scaffolding, forklifts, front-end loaders, etc.), coordinating move-in on the Mall in Washington DC and managing our on-site tools and equipment.
