We are currently seeking a mid to senior level Technical Architect to join our Shanghai office. The ideal candidate will have a strong architectural background and proven success in contributing technical expertise on medium to large scale retail, hospitality or other commercial projects. Preference will be given to candidates with project management experience in China.


  • Provides technical expertise to project teams per the leadership of the Project Manager
  • Integrates the goals and priorities of Archilier with those of our clients while maintaining design and technical excellence
  • Promotes clear communications and professional relationships with team leaders, consultants and clients internally and externally
  • Responsible for the technical development and execution of assigned project phases and tasks per the direction of the Project Manager
  • Consistently provides complete and timely communication of project information (design and technical) to clients, consultants, project managers, project design leaders and team on a regular basis
  • Participates in determining design parameters from a technical standpoint
  • Produces and reviews design documentation for accuracy and thoroughness to meet client’s requirements and company’s quality standards


  • A minimum of a bachelor’s 5-yr professional degree in Architecture
  • Demonstrates technical competence in all architectural project phases
  • At least 5 or more years of progressively responsible technical project experience
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of architectural design, drafting, detailing, building materials, building codes and construction techniques
  • Proven knowledge of general architecture practice including programming, site planning, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills with the ability to build quick rapport with all levels of employees, clients, consultants and vendors
  • Proven ability in problem identification, problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Strong knowledge of design trends, construction methodology and material applications
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and PowerPoint preferred
  • Understanding of 3D software such as 3Ds Max Design, Rhino and Revit desired
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and/or English with clarity, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to both lead and collaborate in a team setting
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines on time
  • Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and flexible personality a must
