NBBJ’s Columbus office - an energetic design studio with an award winning Landscape Architecture and Urban Design practice working regionally, nationally and globally – is seeking a talented, highly motivated Landscape Architect - Senior Level - Lead Designer.  This individual will lead landscape architectural projects by fostering strong conceptual thinking conducive to innovative design solutions and leveraging the team’s passion for the delivery of well-crafted high-performing environments. Attention to measureable design goals, performance metrics, and systems-thinking are advantageous design sensibilities for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in a collaborative, open team environment
  • Work as a liaison between the design team and clients to identify project goals and objectives and articulate design opportunities
  • Provide expertise in executing projects in collaboration with team members, clients and contractors
  • Advance the design practice of Landscape Architecture + Urban Design
  • Fully engage in projects from conceptual design through construction documents
  • Provide practice leadership by working with other team members, engaging in  mentoring and professional guidance
  • Support the marketing and business development activities of the practice
  • Collaborate with Project Landscape Architects to define project work plans
  • Contribute to and enhance the design spirit of the studio

Skills and Qualifications (required unless otherwise noted):

  • 8 - 12 years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture, internships not included
  • Licensed Landscape Architect, LEED Accredited a plus
  • Proven progressive conceptual design and schematic design skills
  • Previous experience working on complex projects in all phases of design
  • Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills, effective client relationship skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams of designers
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, multiple deadlines and multiple scales
  • Demonstrated project experience involving master planning, site design, landscape architecture, and construction documentation
  • Proficient in Adobe CS6, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of AutoDesk Revit Architecture, 3DStudio Max and/or Rhino is advantageous
  • Ability to travel, domestically and internationally
