Artthaus is a fully-integrated design, project management, and real estate development firm. We specialize in the design and development of high-end residential properties in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area both as a Service Provider and Principal.


Within the Real Estate development division, Artthaus develops both boutique urban residences and repositions multi-family properties within the Bay Area.  Furthermore, it also owns and operates 700 units through its property management affiliate Best Bay Apartments.


The Designer will be responsible for liaising between clients and the project team while representing Artthaus, and will facilitate the design process from inception through to completion on high-end residential homes.

Candidate must be a self-confident, strong designer, and a quick problem solver. Reporting directly to the Senior Design Manager, candidate will lead project design from inception through completion. This position requires being a highly organized and strong project leader, while also taking design direction from others.

  • 2-4 years of professional experience practicing high-end custom residential architecture
  • Modern design aesthetic and creative talent with a sense of refinement
  • Proven experience with Interior Design and Construction Detailing; materials and fixture specifications, client presentations, exterior detailing, interior finish details (cabinets, casework, stairs, etc.)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modeling skills, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, (Revit a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to generate a set of working drawings & permit drawings
  • Experience managing close client relationships and subsequent presentations and communication
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills 
  • Previous hands-on construction experience is a plus
  • CA driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle for work purposes. (Mileage reimbursement will be provided according to the current IRS rates.)
  • Graduate of an NAAB accredited 5-year school of architecture or NAAB accredited master’s program with a strong evidence of progress in licensing process is a plus
