Douglas Pancake Architects (DPA) is a small, boutique architectural practice serving the senior housing and healthcare industry across the Western United States.  DPA continues to lead the evolution of architectural practice with its use of BIM technology in all aspects of design and production.  DPA is a close-knit group of compassionate and talented individuals whose passions are focused on creating supportive, meaningful and healing environments for the most frail and vulnerable members of our community.  We continue to enjoy prosperity and success in this economy, and are looking to grow by seeking proven and experienced professionals to join our talented team.

DPA is seeking like-minded, motivated individuals to join our practice who possess the core qualities of compassion, enthusiasm, strong character, high intellect and strong interpersonal skills.  In particular, we are seeking a qualified Project Manager who will act as the main liaison between the client, consultants and firm Director/Principal while overseeing a project from project inception through all phases of design, construction administration and project closeout.  A qualified individual will be expected to wear multiple hats, perform a variety of tasks and be able to juggle competing priorities/schedules accordingly.  Seeking candidates with the following credentials and experience:

  1. A Degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
  2. Licensed, or actively seeking IDP and professional license
  3. Experience in large multi-story, residential and institutional projects required.
  4. A minimum of 10 years of architectural design, production and technical experience through all phases of project design, documentation and construction administration, with 5-10 years of proven organizational and project management experience.
  5. Demonstrated ability to direct, motivate and manage a diverse project team.
  6. BIM software experience required
  7. Competence in a digital-based environment is a core requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provide effective project management by defining the scope of individual projects; developing integrated tasks to accomplish, coordinate and monitor the technical work for multiple projects simultaneously; prepare design and construction documents; ensure that tasks are appropriate to the scope of the project; and manage the construction administration and observation of multiple projects.
  2. Interface with all Agencies with Jurisdiction over the project (Planning, zoning, fire, OSHPD, etc.), and obtain building department approvals.
  3. Provide effective leadership to project team
  4. Assure projects are completed on time by developing schedules, and monitoring the project team's progress toward deliverable schedules and milestones.
  5. Collaborate and coordinate sub-consultants working on the projects.
  6. Provide quality service by working closely with others to ensure fulfillment of client's needs.
  7. Develop and maintain proficiency in current ArchiCAD software.

DPA offers a competitive compensation package that includes base salary, professional growth and performance based bonus/incentive program, paid health insurance, and profit sharing/401k plans.  Compensation is commensurate with experience.
