Interior design and manufacturing company specializing in the hospitality industry seeks an energetic and qualified furniture designer to further strengthen our firm's design offerings. 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with other team members to develop design concepts
  • Produce detailed hand drawings and specifications to include parts lists and costing
  • Create samples and/or working models
  • Produce detail drawings including shop drawings, installation instructions, etc.
  • Test the design concept with computerized modeling and/or physical testing of models
  • Conduct in-depth research on materials and process
  • Arrange meetings and liaise with engineers and in-house project managers to discuss and negotiate production process, cost, and commercial issues
  • Conduct visits to production facilities in the US and overseas, monitor and evaluate production feasibility and quality
  • Present to clients during bidding and proposal process
  • Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate design ideas visually and through oral presentation with strong hand sketching skills, or 3D modeling
  • Wide knowledge of materials, steel, solid woods, veneer, etc...
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Have advance knowledge of Sketch Up and Solidworks
  • Have working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • 2 years + post college experience
  • Basic understanding of residential and or commercial construction methods beneficial 
  • Bi-lingual beneficial
