Jamestown Properties is looking for an internal Architecture and Design resource to assist in the development and conversion of an existing iconic industrial property in Midtown Atlanta into a vibrant urban center with retail, restaurant, market hall, residential, and office that serve the surrounding neighborhood and the creative & innovation economy tenants coming to the project.
This position will serve as a design resource for the on property project team and will be responsible for preparing concept and marketing packages, reviewing 3rd party design proposals, assisting the leasing team with merchandising and LOD preparation / evaluation, and for interacting with 3rd party architects on various initiatives.
Registration at hire date is not required, but an understanding of the following will be considered essential:
The steps required to achieve a successful design process and ability to facilitate it
Knowledge of renovation and construction to and within existing industrial buildings
Current design trends in retail, food & beverage and office spaces
Food and beverage design / planning (w/ a general understanding of Fulton County heath department regulations)
Retail design / planning with emphasis on interior and exterior aesthetics
Interest and experience with sustainable materials and design strategies
In addition to the above, the following skills are considered essential:
Ability to work within a dynamic team environment
Ability to communicate written, verbally, and graphically in a clear and concise fashion
Ability and history of producing graphics with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, and freehand for internal and external review
Ability to use Microsoft Office products
Understanding of BOMA building measurement standards
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and to communicate current project status to other team members
Track record of anticipating and resolving design based problems before they arise in an effort to maintain project schedule and budget
Ability to provide elegantly resolved VE solutions that enrich the projects primary intent
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree in Architecture / Urban Planning / Landscape Architecture from an accredited university; and
Four to six years of experience in commercial real estate with experience in retail, mixed-use, hospitality, and / or multi-family; or
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
LEED AP desired, but not required
Architecture Registration track preferred
