Permasteelisa North America is currently looking for a Jr. Designer to join our Windsor, CT facility.
The Designer is responsible for all aspects of the design process, by transforming the initial conceptual design using CAD into working submittal documents, and to produce fabrication documents from these submittal documents. This position focuses specifically with retail design, store fixtures, office partition systems, and custom interior systems and components.
Prepare Design packages including layouts, interior elevations, exterior elevations, and production drawings
Produce 100% accurate drawings, bill of quantity, and project documents
Create and revise technical literature (e.g. fixture books, catalogues, design guidelines, installation manuals, etc.)
Develop custom details of interior glazing systems, millwork and furniture
Develop documentation for the production of interior glazing systems, millwork and furniture
Develop Shop drawings
Check drawings and documents for accuracy
Prepare material takeoffs
Prepare preliminary hand-sketched schematics for conceptual review (preferred)
Create 3D models and renderings for client presentations (preferred)
Other duties as assigned
Educational: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design or relevant discipline preferred. Associates degree or diploma from technical school required.
Computer Skills: AutoCad and Microsoft Office required. Revit, Inventor and Solidworks preferred. Strong 3D modeling skills.
Work Experience: 3-5 year of related experience preferred. Experience with glazing systems and/ or office furniture preferred.
Other: Must be able to multi-task, work extended time to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work with minimal direction. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail. Must be able to read construction drawings. Should be a strong team player who is able to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
