The Job Captain position works side by side with the Project Management team as their design and production staff. The Job Captain position requires a Professional Graduate with 2-8 years of work experience. The position requires high-level management skills, production know how and a sense of ownership and responsibility for all of the products that are produced by the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create Client Specific Drawing templates utilizing BIM.
Assist PM/Architect in formulating design solutions.
Maintain and Implement Client Standards
Implement and manage QA process
Responsible for understanding and implementing project specific design and program requirements
Direct oversight of Junior Level Staff members as required per operation development
Work in Conjunction with Project Management Team to meet scheduled deliverables.
Attend all client based training if applicable
Coordinate the necessary applicable professional vendors as required per each project
Produces Project specific design and construction drawings as scheduled
Coordinate with the applicable team on Project permit information and permit submittals.
Prepare design models, presentations, and renderings.
Prepare project renderings and “walk-through” movies.
Assist with material and research selection if applicable
Assist with distribution of documents and coordination of sub contracted engineers work if applicable
Manages personal schedule related to project specific due dates.
Applicable Administrative duties related to tracking scheduled projects.
Assist in code research pertaining to projects.
Conducts Site Surveys to gather As Built information for preparation of As Built Drawings
Supervises assignments of individual projects and tasks to staff of designers/job captains, site surveyors and permit expeditors, and coordination of necessary professional vendors (i.e. MEP engineer, Structural engineer, Civil Engineer, lighting, audio/visual, security, and energy management vendors)
Provide management of Production of Construction Documents and other deliverables to junior level staff
Provide technical training as required for junior level staff
High-Level Client Management Experience under supervisor’s direction at a project level
EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:
Architectural or Applicable Professional Design degree background required
Minimum 2-8 years experience in Architectural/Interior design Services
Site Survey, Development and Construction experience preferred
Experience with permit expediting and architectural planning preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Revit experience a must, 2011 and higher
AutoCAD experience preferred.
Proven ability to produce construction documents.
Visual rendering, 3D Studio Max/Viz/Photoshop preferred.
Sketch Up Preferred.
