Oklahoma State University School of Architecture is accepting applications to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will teach design studios every semester and will offer specialty courses in the areas of sustainable architecture (building systems and technology integration) or digital fabrication and/or computer applications. In addition, the candidate is expected to develop a creative and scholarly agenda in one of the above specialties. Preference will be given to candidates who have a MArch with an architect’s license or a Ph.D. (or equivalent), and significant practice experience.
The School fosters a collegial atmosphere and faculty team-teach all design studios. Collaborative and multi-disciplinary research and scholarship is valued, and the School’s combination of accredited undergraduate programs in architecture and architectural engineering and its role in the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology foster unique collaborative opportunities.
The School of Architecture has a 104-year history of educating professional architects and architectural engineers and is proud of its professional focus which combines a strong design/problem-solving curriculum with an emphasis on technology and building systems integration. Computers are widely integrated into the upper curriculum, but the school also values hand-drawing, sketching, and model-making, which are emphasized in the lower years and utilized throughout the curriculum. The School’s new state of the art facilities offer faculty and students many opportunities for growth and success.
