Summary
Yost Grube Hall Architecture is seeking applicants for the position of Project Designer. The Project Designer will have a strong project design portfolio, and successful experience working in a collaborative “integrated design” process. The Project Designer will be engaged in all phases of project delivery from programming and concept development through construction administration. The qualified applicant will generally have 10 or more years of experience in an architecture firm, with a demonstrated commitment to collaboration, eagerness to learn, and passion for developing sustainable design excellence.

Essential Functions:

• Works with the design principal, project manager, project architect and programmers/interior designers to define program requirements and establish design parameters with the A/E team and client
• Manages the design process through all project phases in collaboration with the design principal and project manager, directing the work of assistant designers to deliver design excellence
• Creates and develops overall design concepts, design strategies, and design documentation; participates in client presentations and management
• Works with A/E team to develop project design to meet project budget, schedule, and client requirements
• Participates in marketing and business development activities related to project assignments

Qualifications:

• A graduate of an accredited Master or Bachelor of Architecture degree program or equivalent.
• Must hold a valid license of architecture.
• 10 or more years of experience in an architecture firm.
• Prior successful experience as project designer.
• LEED accreditation preferred with expertise in developing and evaluating sustainable design concepts.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, and other 3-D programs.
• Technical understanding of building systems and requirements developed in collaborative A/E process.
• Excellent time management, communication and collaboration skills.
• U.S. Citizenship preferred for work on U.S. government contracts.
