Intern Architect / Job Captain
Talented intern architects sought to support our educational, corporate and heathcare teams. Duties will be focused on the creation of architectural CAD drawings through all phases of the project – schematic design, design development and, most importantly, the creation of construction documents. The intern architect will work as a part of a project design team under the supervision of an architect.
An understanding of construction detailing, construction documents and CAD drafting is required for this position. Dedication to creative, quality architectural design and strong presentation and communication skills is also required. Comfort with team interactions and the free exchange of design ideas is a must. The Intern may also handle small projects as the primary manager and will be a team member in the development of other more complex projects.
This position may ready the applicant for a future position as a designer, architect and/or project manager. This is a unique opportunity for growth with an expanding New England firm. After integration into the firm has occurred the candidate may manage some project/client relationships and may work as a team member in the development of other more complex projects. This is a full-time position with outstanding growth potential.
Requirements: Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited architectural school, working towards architectural licensing and must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Applicant must be experienced in the development of full sets of architectural construction documents and all of their component parts – details, schedules, etc.
Demonstration of construction detailing, design and presentation skills will be required in an interview. Mastery of basic computer skills including AutoCAD, Revit, Word and Excel software is necessary. Mastery of other graphics and business software would be helpful.
