Job Description Summary
The Production/Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of all design operations through the provision of effective production methods and strategies.  Critical to success is the ability to plan, organize, manage and audit all phases of production thereby ensuring that design works are delivered efficiently, on time, within budget, and most importantly to the highest quality standard. Individual must be adept at handing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment, and able to anticipate and plan for contingencies.

General Responsibilities

  • Establish project execution strategy that provides best practices while successfully completing projects
  • Understand all project acquisition, design, documentation and contract administration services
  • Assist in developing and tracking project related financial targets
  • Communicate effectively and assist in managing project team members
  • Help support strategic project delivery through management leadership
  • Manage project operations, staffing requirements and oversee the studio workflow while interfacing with designers, sketch artists, draftsmen, staff and freelance.

Project Related Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain project proposals, budgets, schedules, and other standard project management tools
  • Participate in project meetings while working with other project consultants including engineering, A/V, construction and FF&E
  • Work with the VPs of Design to oversee and direct the completion of multiple projects from project acquisition to project close-out
  • Participate in implementing and maintain good communications between the project team and the client
  • Coordinate with the Director of Strategic Accounts to establish and deliver best practices while meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Maintain relationships with consultants, contractors and vendors while also evaluating their performance

Requirements:

  • Degree in architecture, business, real estate, engineering or construction management
  • Candidate must have 5 to 7 years of industry relevant production experience with intimate understanding of processes of design, documentation and construction.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and be able to read ground plans.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, scheduling and process as they relate to design and construction practices
  • Ability to manage ground-up development projects and corporate interiors projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional manner and computer literacy in productivity and management software
  • Ability to develop and cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients and vendors
  • Some travel may be required
