Position Overview:  The New York School of Interior Design, an accredited, independent institution of higher education devoted entirely to the discipline of interior design and its related professions, seeks an individual to serve as Director, Institute for Continuing and Professional Studies (ICPS).   The Director of ICPS directs the operations of the school’s continuing education (CE) program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and continually assess the CE business plan, including an analysis of past performance, a structure for future growth
  • Monitor and maintain positive enrollment and revenue trajectory
  • Create new CE courses and course series, maintain ongoing courses; do all scheduling coordination, including coordinating with instructors and entering courses each semester into EMS; maintain popular CE courses and revise/update underperforming courses as necessary
  • Initiate and maintain CE course learning unit (LU) and continuing education unit (CEU) accreditation with external organizations such as AIA and IDCEC
  • Monitor NYSID’s provider membership status with external organizations such as AIA and IDCEC
  • Organize documents and files
  • Brainstorm with External Relations in formulating the type, frequency, content, and timely release of promotional material including announcements, bulletins, social media and internet activity
  • Verify that all online and print information and updates are correct (i.e., forms, schedules, calendars, announcements, bulletins)
  • Provide oversight of phone, email inquiries, and daily routine activities in coordination with the Registrar’s Office, Admissions Office, and customer service; respond to phone and email inquiries promptly in coordination with the Registrar’s Office and the Admissions Office
  • Supervise graduate assistant and collaborate with interdepartmental teams
  • Participate in meetings with OAA staff to report on current tasks; participate on institutional wide committees as required
  • Networking at industry events
  • Handle special projects, other duties, and complete tasks as needed consistent with this positon

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, interior design preferred.  Knowledge of the interior design and related industries and fields: organized, motivated, strategic and entrepreneurial. Experience with higher educational teaching and administration preferred.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Proficiency with technology, comfortable with data analysis, and knowledge of Microsoft Office. 

This is a part time position; 19 hours per week work schedule.
