Business Intelligence, in the Accounting/Finance department, is seeking a skilled data analyst to join its team. The ideal candidate would have a background in analytics and problem solving in the context of a business environment. This position is for a data-driven individual, skilled in analysis and able to think critically about all aspects of the business process. S/he would work in conjunction with the business intelligence team to produce clear reporting, problem solve issues, and work across departments to enhance the use of data and analytics throughout the firm.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the production and distribution of reports for a wide variety of end-users, using an array of data management applications, including, but not limited to, R and SQL
  • Manage small projects for process improvements of data management, data collection, reporting, or QA/QC; able to identify areas for improvement and implement process change; work with others to prioritize projects
  • Research and resolve actual and potential problems through the critical analysis of data; form conclusions for decision-making purposes
  • Work with the BI team to present data in usable formats for a wide variety of end-users; ability to tailor format based on both the intended audience and the anticipated function of the data
  • Importing, cleaning, transforming, validating or modeling data
  • Aid end-users in the usage of reports and reporting tools
  • Recognize trends or patterns in complex data sets

Key Skills:             

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in accounting/finance department in Architectural, Engineering or Professional service firm preferred.
  • Programming or analytics software experience required
  • Experience with R Studio, Tableau, or SQL queries required
  • Ability to become familiar with tools, programs, software and skillsets necessary to a dynamic and changing environment
  • Able to make connections across varied and disjointed forms of data; understanding the different functions and use of both qualitative and quantitative data in the decision-making process in the professional services industry
  • Investigative mindset or techniques that can be applied across a variety of tools
  • Ability to work independently, and communicate needs and questions to other team members
